Am I missing something? Voltage divider issue?

Hi Everyone!
My voltage divider in Multisim doesn't seem to be working properly and I have obviously made some sort of boo boo, but for the life of me I cant see what I've done wrong!

Could someone look this over and see if they can see where I've made my mistake?

I'm using a transistor activated by ground to setup a voltage divider to regulate the voltage output, but for some crazy reason no matter what I do, the output from the divider is ALWAYS 2.486V!

It doesn't matter what I change R2 or R4 to!! HELP!!

Hi,

For one thing, you do not drive the emitter base diode with a 5v voltage source. You need some series resistance to limit current.
If you did it the way you have it now, the base emitter would blow out on first run.
Fix that and see what happens.

In a real circuit you would have blown the transistor.

Put a resistor in the base circuit to limit the base-emitter current.

Edit: Al beats me to the punch.
