Look, don't let this get you down. There are treatments for bone growth and getting bones back to normal. My wife broke her femur because unknown to us cancer literally ate the bone. Kathy is 72 and even at 72 there are treatments. They replaced the femur along with a knee and partial hip. They also have her on bone meds to replace bone growth as they treat the cancer. All of the doctors have stressed on thing and that is to keep her moral up.

It doesn't sound like the kind of thing that will get better quickly, we are after all, talking about bones. I hope you will be extra careful about taking chances that might result in a fall, or anything else that might crack a bone.

Why does it seem that these problems come in bunches?

As I said, I am learning as a toddler does, If I hurt myself, I don't do it again. A toddler is only 2' tall I'm 5' 8" (or used to be). It makes a difference.

They don't, bones take a long time for bone growth but on the bright side with the right diet and the right meds, as well as a good bone guy, they do grow and heal, even as we get older. Parting words from a bone guy are always "don't fall" as brittle bones snap real easily. There was another woman ahead of my wife for radiation treatment. As she was placed, ever so gently into the mold for treatment, a bone actually broke.

"Why does it seem that these problems come in bunches?"

Because when it rains it pours so really it's a meteorological thing.

Well, I was starting yet another round of diarrhea, Last week was pretty miserable. I happened to be reviewing my meds, ans noticed my Vitamen12 suppliments, it had a blurb that said "In case of adverse reaction, discontinue use." So stopped
taking them and my problem went away. Wish all my other issues were so simple.

I have revised Paint CAD to include EU schematic conventions after a suggestion from Scott and Bertus plus a minor but PITA change to make selecting a component easier, I explained it in my blog.

Fom what I've read this has stuck in my mind the most:

Don't forget I love to draw concept circuits for beginners.
I wish you knew about amplifiers! I would like someone to look over my design and just say "Hey you messed up here" !
As a beginner in electronics and no one to teach me right from wrong and having to look up all my answers except from what I get here, Then sometimes the answers don't make since and your afraid to keep looking stupid and just don't want all the answers just handed to you but actually want to know "WHY"it's this way or how does it work that way.... When the calculations you are presented with confound you or make you question how you were taught mathematics gets a bit frustrating you withdraw.

I periodically experience a massive diarrhea attack (once a year it seems). Lasts for a few weeks. Diagnosed as a intestinal bacterial bloom. A month long treatment of antibiotics seems to work.

Wendy are you diagnosing things like the IBSD (Irritable Bowel Syndrome w/ Diarrhea) or is the the diagnosis of a doctor?

I think Occum's Razor applies in this case. The doc recommended the D12, the rest is history. When I was a working stiff I missed a huge amount of work with the symptoms we all know and hate. I started martial arts, and they went away.

@Wendy
I have a thread in which I have been working on my first electrical project.
when you get a chance scroll through some of the last pages and you'll get an idea of what I've been asking about in my latest concerns about it.
Here's some of it!
The IC I used (Post #681)
I also used it as my schematic
https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/...making-something-from-the-past.150844/page-35
My PCB (Post #641)

You can post answers there so I don't mess up your thread here

Been a rough week, with some pluses. I have been sick all week. Painful Constipation turned into Diarrhea, a slight improvement. Lately I've been changing my own undergarments, had lots of practice this week, no catastrophes. Didn't to my depression any good though. It started last weekend, and lasted until this weekend. Meanwhile I've been trying to relearn some old math skills in How to calculate timing for Constant Current capacitor charging? thread. I feel I've been making headway, which is something. Relearning an old skill totally forgotten is slightly easier.

Being sick means I didn't get much done project wise. Still lots for me to do. A good thing I think. Means I am engaged. I was recently offered a choice of sponge baths, or PT, easy decision, I'll take personal hygiene over exercise every day. Doesn't mean I can't exercise too, just no machines or a coach to help. But I've grown to like being clean over the last 10 weeks. I seriously doubt PT will help after 3 years of disability anyhow, the 1st year was critical and I didn't get the help I needed when I needed it.

Among my many flaws I have to address is a impatience with the world in general. I had a fairly lucid weekend (some are better than others), one of the epiphanies I had is the personal difference between need and want. For example, I need a new hospital table in my bedroom, as my old one resembles a Charlie Chaplin movie. It is so tilted stuff tends to slide off when placed on it, it is so wobbly I'm always sloshing drinks like coffee and tea accidentally. Given the cost is under $50, it was not hard to talk myself into getting a new one. I justify this because it is a major improvement in my quality of life. I want a new laptop, my old one is no longer portable (I dropped it and broke the battery circuits long before my stroke), but other than that it works well. When the keyboard started acting up I plugged a USB keyboard in and continued trucking on, At the beginning of this year I started putting $20/month aside for a new-to-me laptop, I am up to $160.00. Then it occurred to me if I put a monitor on this table I would no longer need reading glasses and could use this old lappie as a desktop. A monitor, like the laptop, falls very much in the category of want. so I will keep my eyes out for a used flat screen monitor, last I checked they could be bought for under $50 (3months of saving).

Without getting specific I figured out a new life skill that increases my independence just that much more.

Little by little, things are getting better.

Isn't that what things are really all about?

Need, want and nice to have have always been a longstanding joke between my wife and I. I see something like a new gun or even old classic gun for sale. I tell my wife I "need" that. She corrects me with no, it would be a nice to have for you. :)

Anyway when all is said and done increasing your independence is what is important.

Wendy my friend, if you lived nearby I would give you a flat screen monitor, but shipping it to you would cost more than the $50. But maybe somebody else who lives much closer can help. It is not that I am generous, it is that stuff finds it's way to me. For the monitors, they are what was left after another person's business collapsed and went broke, and was liquidated. Not by creditors, but by the owner.
There was a couple who could not tell the difference between need and want, and the result was that they are now living in a trailer park in western Florida. They owe money to the last three places that they rented to live in up here in Michigan. Oh Well.
I hope that you continue to recover and restore your abilities.

Hey Wendy,
Give Jimmy Tanner a call over at Tanner Electronics. 972-242-8702. They frequently have used monitors, keyboards, etc for cheap. I know you’re familiar with them but here’s a link anyway..

http://www.tannerelectronics.com/

Also Walmart of all places has lots of refurbs.
https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=refurbished monitors&typeahead=monitors
I agree you can get very good deal on used big screen LCD monitors cuz most CCFL backlight problems (which is totally the most common problem with older displays) are caused by bad electrolytic caps in _inverter_ circuit that are super easy to access and replace (so less than 1 Hr of shop time and it's like new display quality)! Shops usually sell them just to cover parts and labor of replacing caps since they usually get monitors for free when customers bring them in for _disposal_!:) So all you need to do is let them know you're interested!

Hope you feel better soon @Wendy!
