The attached picture is of the board from a remote motion sensor. Can you tell me about the field pattern from the aerial printed on this board - omnidirectional or directional and, in which case, which direction?

I would say it would favor the long trace on the edge of the board. Do you have a range problem? What frequency is it?

 

It's a 433 MHz device, so the long helical 'coil' should be the major element of the antenna in the blurry picture.
