¿¿¿??? Many TV stations transmit (stream) over the internet without the intrusion of Rokus and Netflixes and Hulus...
Of course. But I meant in Roku. It doesn’t help you to have a streaming app on your laptop if you want to watch it on your Roku TV.

This is exactly why mirror my phone.

The $20 Onn streaming box includes Goggle Chrome Cast, so it's simple to cast from a phone. Search for the program you want on the phone and cast. From that point, stopping/pausing, etc. can be handled from the remote.

Unless of course there's an irrational fear of using a phone in the process.

Wow. An actual demonstration of a working solution doesn't even warrant acknowledgement?

True, my demonstrated solution does require a 20 buck purchase of a piece of hardware about 3"×3"×¾" that plugs into the TV's HDMI connector and a 5v connection to either a USB plug pack or (probably) a USB connector on the back of the TV, but the pictures show it works and it will be invisible behind the TV.

Get used to your advice and posts being ignored! It seems that some simply do not understand enough to respond to them. At least they are not
