Adding a heating top to a magnetic stirrer.

I came across a 220v hotplate/stirrer that a guy had ran 110v until the motor went out, the hotplate side still worked. It's an old analog deal with a dial for heat and one for stir speed.

my little digitalhomebrew stir plate works great but has no hotplate I want to either put the thermal element on top of the other stirrer

i have the stands to set it on top but dont know how to wire it up (running a separate power supply is fine, beneficial even) I have the whole device but in components, so i'm thinking power to fuse to potentiometer to thermal element but I'm not comfy with the 220v device running 110v, I'm not trying to start a fire or get electrocuted, i'm just wanting to use what i have to save cash i can't afford.

I just need to know how to wire the hotplate to work on its own at 110v, preferably with what i have but will get correct parts if needed, once i get it working i can just set the element on top of my stir plate and im good. I understand it will be on a seperate power supply which is fine

Thanks for any info!

If I understand correctly you are considering adding a heating element to your home brew stirrer ....
I don't believe this is feasible for two reasons ... this device is not designed to handle heat will probably melt the plastic , burn out the electronics , Also putting a heater between the two magnets ( the one on the motor and the one in the flask) will reduce the magnetic connection and stop the stirring action .

Much better to fix the motor on the other heater/stirrer . First try turning the motor, it may have got stuck and needs some oil ...This motor is very basic , see if the winding is still intact ... If you can't fix it then replace it.
