hi I am trying to turn on the ADC153 . can any one mayby explain what to connect to each pin ? so far I tried what is written in the datashit but it did not work .

Which micro-proc are you going to use to drive it.??

why do i need micro-proc ? I thought that this ADC work like the ADC 0804 of Texas instruments . I just want to turn it on for start tand then connect that outputs of this ADC to ALTERA FPGA

If you look at the 5th line of text on that Red Mode clip I posted, it states 'A conversion is initiated by driving /RD Low' that means the MAX expects a High to Low edge to start the conversion. Also /CS goes High at the end of the conversion.
To work the MAX must be pulsed by some external logic, which is usually a MCU.
