activating relay to fire an audio file

What about my question in post 22?
Also , is there any chance the dry contact could close while playing a file?
If so some additional circuitry is needed.

The next question is what activates the dry contact in the satellite receiver.
This is a Satellite broadcast HQ and we send up Relay Closures thru the satellite modulator. So, we send them out and the Affiliates' sat receivers activate an external device with the relay. In this case it is their ID machines.

It plays 1 time then stops. If trigger pressed again, it plays same file.
S0 is Gnd, S1 first file, S2 second file, S3 etc..
When setting the DY-HL50F for Mode 1 connect S1 to ground and then connect power or restart power as mentioned in Note #2 ?

Welcome to the Forum.
Is this relay activated manually?
Yes it is Manual. Thru the sat remote relay contact closure. The frequency for the triggers varies during the day. I had a Timer circuit hooked up, but the Time on device drifted during the day. Some times as much as 2 min. Definitely not acceptable. There are audio inserts from the affiliates at each site that are, in some cases, only allowed 10 seconds.
So these triggers have to be triggered by sat receiver at remote, unmanned, sites.

Have you read my two previous post?
Yes , I read your posts. In Mode 1 if gnd connected to ANY Pin, the file for that position plays once, only. If same Pin pressed again, the same file plays.
I have a pushbutton hooked up, in case I need to go to site and fire it WITHOUT waiting for Sat signal to fire it.
The USB is to load audio files onto board.
The Chips just arrived along with diodes and resistors. Picked up a small perf solder board from Radio Shack and will moount parts to it for testing. ( Also picked up IC chip sockets for it. Dont like to solder ICs.

I still don't think the Mode 1 was set correctly.
Procedure:
Turn Power OFF
Connect a jumper wire from S1 to ground.
Connect a momentary switch to S2 and ground.
Set all 3 Dip switches ON
Turn Power ON.
Press switch on S2 to advance File playback when file ends.
In Mode 1 the CD4017 and transistor
inverters can be eliminated.

Since there is an audio file 00001, when sending 1 to Gnd, it plays. I will eliminate it. Cant get to this until Monday. Thank you for the help.
In the mean while, I have learned how to trigger a "pulse" from the NE555 that I have, by connecting Pin 1 to Gnd and Pin 2 to one side of the Temporary contact closure, Pin 1 to other side of contact. I connected Pin 3 to Pin 14 of the 4017, so it sees that Pulse.

Not if it's actually in Mode 1 from my understanding of the operation.
Follow my procedure exactly when you get there Monday and see if that works.
If you can get it successfully into Mode 1 the 555 circuit below is all that's needed.

No chance of another contact activation attempt. We send the signals from our satellite transmitter.

Had chance to run by office and pick up Player.
Did not know how you were able to understand their Work Mode instructions, but after I set it up as you said, IT WORKED and I went back to that Instruction Sheet. I was "reading" too much into it. When it said S1 to GND, I did that, BUT did not connect 1 Side of Contact Switch to 1 and other to 2..
That Power OFF worked.
Earlier, I had just connected Point 1 to GND and other side of Trigger and other side of Trigger to 2, but never shut down the power.
Tried it again after re-powering and it worked. Went thru all 7 Audio files, stopping after each.
so, now what do I do with all these 4017 and 555 chips !!!! Lol.

I know, I was trying to get you to slow down a little but happy you got it working.
Could hang on to the parts and breadboard that circuit for fun.
Question: When the receiver activates the dry contacts, how long do they stay closed?
Curious, how many times a day does the receiver activate those contacts?
