Why unit area or unit impulse, step, ramp, parabolic test signals are distinguishably standardized? can you throw light on this, it will be helpful .

Would you prefer some other constant be used for a standard? In some cases the choice is purely arbitrary. The unit impulse has a definition that CANNOT be realized in practice. Approximated, but not actually realized.

Hello there :)

Believe it or not light is a standard.
The speed of light in a vacuum is 299,792,458 metres per second, a figure scientists finally agreed on in 1975 - but why settle on that figure? And why does it matter? Answering those questions takes us through space, time, physics and measurement.:)

Give us the context. That may help with providing an appropriate answer.
Hello,
Thanks for you response!
During studies of signals & system, I wondered, why especially unit area for any test signal are taken into consideration? Is it related to mixed signal processing , so that it will be easier to handle mathematically?

Hello,
I wanted to know , what will be the generilzed case in that context that prefered(effective) in system testing.
