Hello. Im new here. I was thinking about making a 555 timer circuit, but im pretty inexperienced and dont know if using a 555 circuit as a switch will cause skin effect. When i think of skin effect i think of a regular household sinewave but i cant imagine what kind of wave would come out of the switch. Does it not matter what the wave is for skin effect to occur? If we had hands fast enough to switch on and off a light switch 1000 times a second, would that create a 1000 hz frequency that would have an associated skin depth? Or does switching on and off a light switch by hand 1000 times a second have no effect and the circuit (light bulb and wires) only experience the 120 volt 60 hz supplied to the switch?
