I have a "5v" ps3 controller battery(i am not sure about the capacity but i think it is around 3000 mah) and want to use it as a power source for my internet router which is rated 12V\1A.
My question is: can i make such boost converter ? (input(3 to 5v) output voltage:12v output current:1A)

Keep in mind that the current from the battery will be much higher.
The current taken from the battery will be in the order of 4 Amp, so the run time will likely be less than one hour.
Also there is no protection for low voltage for the battery, wich might be dangerous.
