in case of a star transformer yes, but in this case of 3 ph generator why ? if it is so, what's the need of the second coil of each
phase if it's grounded ?

First did you or have you done any reading on how alternators, ( it's not a generator) work? Your making AC in this, so you need two field windings for each phase, that is what makes it AC -alternating current.

 

And it works exactly the same as a DC generator, except a commutator is used to ensure a constant polarity.
