220v strobe running at low power on 110v to 220v transformer -- advice?

I have an expensive 220v quality strobe...it won't work here. If it did I would use it!

This one works fine with a 220v main. It does not work well with a good 110-220v torrid transformer.

I don't want to discuss what is the best solution for the first world.

I just want to get this one working, thank you.
