I have built a small 6 watt audio amp for my pc and i did not put a volume control on it, but i'd like to put a 2 poles switch in the wires to the speaker to turn off sound for the speakers ,do i put the switch on the Negative or positive side?. Thanks.

 

You can use a single pole, single throw ON/OFF switch in either speaker wire. It really doesn't matter.
