1W LED powered directly by 3.6v 1850mah Li ion battery?

Hello.
I am a noob but I need to power my 1W LED light by using a 3.6v 1850mah Li ion battery.
Is it possible to power the LED directly by the battery? or do I have to have a resistor??
Your professional opinion is greatly appreciated.
