Hi Richard,
I've just realised there is a potential problem with schemaics in posts #17 & #19. If the actuator is moving in one direction and the button for the other direction is pressed both relays will latch on and the motor will stop. Power would have to be removed to clear this condition.

Hi Richard,
While working on a way round the problem I mentioned in post #21 I noticed I had made a drawing error in the schematic in post #19 This is the corrected schematic.

I have worked out a solution to the problem but it would be difficult to implement on the two channel remote as it needs to break the positive connection to the relay coils which would be difficult. It should work using the two SPDT relays,
This is the modified schematic to clear the problem.

Thanks Les - it worked fine as per the first diagram. I just needed to press it twice to get it going down. One push stopped it, two started it again. Which is great.

Thank you so much for all the help. Les I might just come to you direct with my next project problem.

Thanks to everyone for the help.
Richard.

Hi Richard,
I'm glad you got it working. I'm not sure what you mean by my first diagram. Could you give the post number ? also which remote control you are using ? (The Wi Fi one in post #1 or the 2 channel remote.) If I know which diagram you worked to I will try to work out why you have to press the button twice. A thought has just occured to me, If you are using the 2 channel remote it probably has jumpers to configure the mode of operation. This is an extract from the instructions for the 4 channel version (Which I think will be the same.)

Output working way:

1. Self-lock: connect the JP1 with the cutting out cap.
2. Jog: the cutting-out cap is non-occupation, JP1 and JP2 do not connect either.
3. Inter-lock: Connect the Jp2 with the Cutting out cap,
Jog: press one button is ON, loosen your finger on the same button is OFF (need one channel switch and one buttons remote control).
Self -lock: press one button for one time is ON, press the same button again is OFF (need one channel switch and one buttons remote control).
Inter-lock: press one button is ON, press another button is OFF (need one channel switch and 2 buttons remote control).

It is worded rather strangely. When they say "cutting out cap" they mean the jumper that connects two pins together. When it says "connect the JP1" (Or JP2) it means the jumper links the centre of the three pins to one of the outside ones which are JP1 and JP2 I don't which is which of these pins but my 4 cannel units were supplied with JP1 with the jumper to the centre pin which is what they call "Self-lock" mode. You need it set to jog mode which is with neither JP1 or JP2 connected to the centre pin. If it is in the self lock mode it could be why you need to press the button twice.
