Who needs trust when the stuff is so cheap it's disposable?
All it has to do is work for 3 years, have half decent performance and reasonably good industrial design.
The whole world needs trust and reliability. Countries such as France are coming to realize the perils of manufacturing cheap and disposable stuff.

That, in a nutshell is the problem. Buying cheap junk.

I've been burned far too many times buying cheap junk. A 600W power supply that's really only halfway reliable at 300W continuous VS a well known name brand (like TDK-Lambda) 600W supply you could run at 650W continuous from now until the equipments doomsday.

Their trust in you or yours in them ?

After Siglent offered us NZ distributor in 2013 I can honestly say they give us all the support one could ask for.
Product reliability/warranty is near 100% and any problems or parts required are quickly delivered.
Supply chain is wonderful and when needed we can get stuff we don't normally stock in just 1 week.

Not having run a small company before 2013 their support and comms are excellent.
Do we see this from the majority of western suppliers ?
You guys are selling to a no BS, technically savvy base yet you still try to pull BS like the serial decoding non-fix message about a regression from a firmware update. Small support issues like that degrade trust when you try to BS engineering.

Happy with the acquisition at this price range, but the UI must be enhanced, fortunately some changes can be made by the user itself.
On eevblog there's a bunch of chatter for custom UI by "hacking" the Android scope package. There's been a lot of great enhancements by a few users there.

Wow, Rigol downloads are beyond bizarre.
The link is to a 1.03.00.06 zip, yet it downloads the 1.04 FW, and in the Release Notes text file it makes no mention of a 1.03.00.06 FW.

From what I know, they fixed the bad bugs they recently introduced (XY bricking), but no mention of fixing the FFT that's been an issue for years.

Users of the 800-900 have been wanting to tweak the colors of the traces. Not sure is any of the custom user FW installs have managed to do that yet. Adding a color wheel to set a color would be nice.

Got a good laugh from this one. I added a extra remote display on my Solar monitoring system via the CANFD 4-wire network (two differential signal wires and two power wires). It's a tee from the other remote display with no termination resistor (R10) on the end of the second remote with a several meter cable run for the extra display.

The DHO does CAN but not CANFD decoding (FD has two bit rates, nominal 1MHz and data 5MHz on this).

Set the DHO decoder to 1MHz bit rate to see the ID header, when it switched to 5MHz for data, this is the scope display try to decode that.

"Stuff" :D

The 5MHz signal section looks fine, with little ringing or reflections.

What version of firmware is on that DHO?
It's what they pushed out over the internet to the scopes upgrade function storage. I enabled the install of the new firmware and it works just fine.

It should be version: v00.01.04.00.02

Change log:

[Model Supported] All the DHO800/900 series oscilloscopes
[Latest Revision Date] 2024/11/1

[Updated Contents]
v00.01.04.00.02 2024/11/1

1. Resolve the issue of no waveform when uncalibrated.

v00.01.04.00.01 2024/10/15

1. Resolve No waveform in XY mode when rolling down.
2. Resolve No waveform in XY mode after default reset.
3. Resolve When vertical units are in volts and a probe ratio is set, trigger and decode thresholds are incorrect.
4. Resolve Menu labels are too short after AUTO.
5. Resolve MATH scale does not follow after setting V/A probe ratio.
6. Resolve Waveform disappears.
7. Resolve Measurements are calculated only once at a 50ms time base.
8. Resolve System crash when modifying all measurement sources under extended time base in measurement settings.
9. Resolve Screen grid settings are ineffective.
10. Resolve Incomplete waveform display when adjusting the time base to enter scan mode in XY mode.
11. Resolve System crash after enabling all measurements and performing default in scan mode.
12. Resolve Abnormal horizontal offset when switching from roll to scan at 200ms horizontal time base.
13. Resolve Waveform does not refresh when switching from channel one to channel two in SCAN mode.
14. Resolve Abnormal color of options in "Source" and "Modify All Measurement Sources" in measurement settings.
15. Resolve Channels do not automatically turn on when modifying all measurement sources.
16. Resolve Waveform does not refresh with multiple stop and run actions in SCAN mode.
17. Improve self-calibration pass rate.
18. In engineering mode, add build time, WPU, and SPU.A to *IDN? response.

I believe the 800-900 series all have the same limitations in bandwidth (250MHz), but the OEM license key for each model restricted stuff down. Many buy 814 and hack it to get max ability.
IMHO, all they needed to do was to sell the 800 as 2ch and 4ch version with all restrictions removed, and if you needed more features you buy a 900 2ch or 4ch. Rigol does some silly stuff with models.

MHO900 series mixed signal oscilloscope. For $999 entry level MHO934 you get 4CH 350MHz 12 bit at 4Gs/s BLING!!!

Santa might bring me one.

I thought I was only going to need audio and 3-30MHz ability, then 6Meter (50-55MHz) came along. Then 2Meter (144-148MHz) came along. Now, I just added 70 Centimeters (420-450 MHz) and 23 Centimeters (1240-1300 MHz) to my bench as well. And it doesn't stop there as all modes and licensees (except Novices) are authorized Amateur Bands above 10.5 GHz. I can't cover over 350MHz on my scope but can do 1.2GHz with an old Hewlett Packard signal generator and HP spectrum analyzer as well as my NanoVNA. I have no plans to expand on that... I do use the 2Meter and 70centimeter bands and have put up a 1.2GHz vertical antenna but no traffic on that band unless you go extraterrestrial satellite or moon bounce.
