Oh, it's for the Siglent, you threw me off track with that in the RIGOL thread

Yeah it appears some decode was broken in the last FW. It's been confirmed by a beta tester and reported to Siglent.I was comparing the two for simple decodes in the beginning. Now the SIGLENT has another black-mark.
Give us your review.Just another DHO804 user here. I buy directly from a Chinese supplier, but it arrived without the rubber protectors on the BNC terminals, seems to be a new device with the 00.01.02 firmware, 12 hardware, and 2024/01/03 build.
Well, officially the SDS800X HD 12bit range was released 28 Feb, a whole month ago, however finding them is becoming a bit of a lottery due to interest. US and EU were first to receive stock and the rest of us have just had to whistle while another production batch was run despite having orders in well before release date.Apparently the 12-bit Rigol lit the fire under Siglent and I just got their announcement of their new 12 bit scopes the other day. Competition at it best.
Thanks. Time to budget for another scope.Well, officially the SDS800X HD 12bit range was released 28 Feb, a whole month ago, however finding them is becoming a bit of a lottery due to interest. It's not like these just magically appeared as they have been in development for a while.
Looks like the future. The VESA mount blocks some of the air-flow so I fixed that later with longer screws and plastic standoffs.
First boot with all the inputs and probes for testing.
A mess of probes for two scopes.
Spacers added to the VESA mount to improve air-flow.

External HDMI monitor display.
Looks very good.
1 All interrupt triggers toggle the gpio pin.
2. Main processing run is high logic level. Every super-loop iteration sets the gpio pin low on exit and back high when it starts at the beginning.
3 and 4 are I/O signals.
Looking for program bottlenecks caused by interrupts or mainline programming from variations (gaps and changes in toggle densities) in the traces.
Everything works but there are some GUI and function quirks normally seen with 1.0 firmware. It's too early to really evaluate total functionality but I'm happy with it so far.
That would be nice but the industrial design, as usually, was IMO cloned from places like Tektronix.Looks like the future.
As these Chinese companies finally, slowly learn to do decent industrial design, their manufacturing power will rule the landscape.
The values is there.

"As these Chinese companies finally, slowly learn to do decent industrial design"But who cares?
I buy for value, I would LOVE it if they copied Tek's interface down to the last screw.
If the UI is great and it's 1/4 the price? done! sold!
I have a rebranded Siglent from Teledyne, it's exactly the same scope and software with Teledyne branding and software locks. I used Siglent software on it for the MSO functionality.I like my DHO, it also cost much less than a Tek. I'm not sure that Sig and Rigol are really competing in the same market. I would take the DHO over a used CRT Tek any day.
Take a look at these:

I'm pretty sure Siglent is being rebranded as Teledyne... they are capable of competing and designing good gear. It amazes me how much I get for $300 on a Sig or Rigol.

Siglent have had a collaboration with LeCroy for at least 10 years and still do.I'm pretty sure Siglent is being rebranded as Teledyne...
I think it IS starting to happen! The Chinese are not dumb, they understand that the investment in design pays with a big returns - if its good. they are starting to really focus on developing thier design chops, when they do, watch out!"As these Chinese companies finally, slowly learn to do decent industrial design"
I'm just saying, that's not happening. It's a value priced clone like most of their products.
I've bought both and used both. The DHO is nice and I use it daily but it's not close to TEK in quality or total long term value.
No doubt about being smart but that means little in the semi market. Japan is smart but they are no longer the semi powerhouse they once were.I think it IS starting to happen! The long answer is: NoAre they a trusted supplier that you could bet your company on, can you trust their long term availability and quality, is their supply chain stable, is the region geo-politically stable, etc ...
Their trust in you or yours in them ?I'll just say the main problem is trust. Are they a trusted supplier that you could bet your company on, can you trust their long term availability and quality, is their supply chain stable, is the region geo-politically stable, etc ...
