I have a 5000 watt inverter that was inadvertently back fed 120 vac from a 4500 watt inverter generator. The unit switches on and when load is applied blows the main fuse. Just wondering if there are specific components to check first other than the basic elect caps, etc. starting at the output. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Good day folks, I service emergency vehicles lights, siren, and the electrical system in the back of ambulances. I get a lot on questions and have a lot of Inverters fail. I am looking to understand why they fail and how to repair them. Any help would be appreciated.
