Hi,

I have an electronic device who works with 110V but I'm in EU. Is it a goos idea to replace the full bridge rectifier by a simple diode to have a half wave rectifier to have about 103V?

Welcome to AAC!

You should be more specific. You're referring to 110VAC and 220VAC. 110V would be taken to mean 100VDC.

No. A half wave rectifier means you'd only be using half of the cycle. It won't reduce the voltage.

The proper way is to use a step down transformer. They're commonly available. To find an appropriate one, you need to know the power used by the device.

Is this device like a computer? Many things now days have a switch mode power supply (SMPS) built into them, with either a switch on them near the cord, or they automatically change internally to the proper mains voltage.
