Hi, I just want to repair the motor of my washer machine . It has a thermal protector and goes off after some seconds of starting up.

I would like to test which winding is bad and know if I need for sure to open the motor case. I have tested the capacitor and it is fine.

If I turn the coupling I do not hear any strange noise coming from the motor. I have tested the motor without the washer transmission.

 

So is it running OK when removed from the M/C? and the thermal trip stays in?

 

Yes, thank you for reply. I have tested the run winding and the thermal protector stays in. It seems that the problem is on the timer. As I mentioned, I have checked the capacitor but just if it gets charged and it does, not if the rating is right My multimeter does not cover that range

 

If the motor starts OK out of the machine and runs cool for a period, then the problem points elsewhere.
