I just searched and it seems there were other World Cup Threads but they were all titled with year and location. So, here is the better late than never World Cup 2022 thread.
Just wanted to hear feedback from the Argentine member(s). I only know atferrari -
I just see the team plane land live on CNN. 2:19am local time on a AFPTV feed.
Congrats @atferrari !

Thanks Señor Salts.

Certainly happy with it. After so many years our team got our 3rd World Cup.

The most outstanding achievement is that they were able to get a genuinely good performance. The final game was a excelent demonstration of team work.

The coach, initially appointed in a temporary status!! kept doing his job steadily with minimal contact with press. The team got a proud sequence of 36 games invict until the shocking defeat by Saudi Arabs. But things improved a lot later.

In few hours they will be at the Obelisk in Bs Aires to celebrate.

The first time I could watch all games becoming an ephemeral expert. That knowledge (fútbol is not my sport) will start fading soon.

Just a world: Leo Messi always fascinated me. When he started playing in the FCB Barsa was a pleasure watching him.

Thanks for the oportunity to vent joy here.
Be well.

Looked pretty crazy...

especially when some team members crawled up on the team bus during the parade and weren't expecting low power lines. Could have turned sad in a hurry.

this looked like more fun.

I watched the Argentina vs France FIFA World Cup Final - Qatar 2022 and what a thriller it was, for those who did not see the match.

One commentator called it the wildest final in the tournament's 92-year history.

Argentina was up 2-0 with a penalty goal by Messi and a great goal by Di Maria at 36 minutes of play.
In the second half France was back in the game with a penalty goal and another great goal both by Mbappe with minutes left in regular time closing it with 2-2 tie.

In overtime play, again Messi pushed Argentina ahead 3-2. Another penalty gave Mbappe his third goal for the game to tie it up 3-3. The final score was 3+(4) vs 3+(2) after shootouts.

I give the referee credit for making the right calls. Overall I thought it was a well played game by both teams with very little controversy.

In the final analysis it was certainly a nail biter for all football fans regardless of which team you supported. The spectators all got a very thrilling game. In the overall performance from both sides, Argentina definitely earned the 2022 World Cup!

Congratulations to Argentina and all football fans!

Pretty good summary, Señor Chip.

As Didier Deschamps (France's coach) put it, the first 60 m, they had no game. Actually they had not much control. Later, things changed as you said.

At penalties' time, our players were exhausted.
From now on, 3 stars.
