Hello,
I need to wire a 3.5mm cord to an echo button so when I acuate the button, it signals the device the button is plugged in to. Does anyone know where I can solder it to?

If I touch the red wire and the ground together it sends a signal, now I just need to figure out how to get that to work inside the button.

Thanks,
Anthony

P. S. I'm trying to make a button for the Xbox adaptive controller.

What you are trying to do is not completely clear. Are you simply trying to use the button as a big switch?

It’s not very well suited to that application. The circular traces you see on the PCB are the contacts for a conductive rubber switch the device uses. The only way to reliably use if would be to include some active electronics. It could be done, but it’s a very roundabout way to get a large switch.

Why not use some other large switch?

Right now I just have it going mechanically. I but the ground on the bottom of the switch. And then the red wire on the button part so when I push down they contact and send a signal. That's working fine for me rn.
