Swedish and Norwegian is not that different. Once I took the night-train over the mountains, and there was this Dutch woman starting talking to me. I answered in Norwegian, but no. She didn't understand. Then I tried English, but no. She didn't understand that either. Then out of the blue, I tried some Swedish-ish (what a fun word)stuff, and that she understood.

I am envious. all the glorious sights to behold. all the history..
When my dad retired (1978) he and my mother returned to England (Norwich) to live the remainder of their years. They were both 56 years old and had many years to enjoy.
I used their place as a launch-pad for many European travels. I only have the worn out photos and fleeting memories of the people and their kindness, you live it every day.
