You don't have to learn it if you don't need to program an android device.

 

You don't have to learn anything when everything is already done for you.
You don't have to learn math and physics either.
You don't have to think for yourself when you've got ChatGPT.

 

Because not everyone wants to use HTML and web interfaces.
As others have said you don't have to learn it... use what makes you happy.

 

I guess I would be curious to know why you think you have to learn it. I've done just fine without lifting a finger in that direction.

 

Since Android has a web browser, you can use HMTL 5 same as any other platform that accesses the web. Android programming (eg kotlin?) has a different purpose.
