I have an Alinco DJ-180 (2-meter) handheld transceiver. Out of curiosity I checked the PLL VCO adjustment spec. The service manual says 1.5 +/- 0.05V. I measured mine as 1.699V. Seems pretty far out to me. But the thing is, this HT works and communicates on the frequencies I select. So...How can it be out of adjustment? Moreover, should I even adjust it? (I know that once I adjust the VCO spec voltage I'll have to adjust RF frequency.)

 

My moto for such situations is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", so if it seems to be operating properly, than I wouldn't mess with it.
