Hi Dave, I'm into electronics of all types from Ham, Amature and CB, even FM radio, to computers, Mechanical Engineering, knife making, Gas and Diesel engine repair, and many more.

I consider myself a Professional of all my skills. I was born with Asperger's, but have mostly grown out of it. I am getting old now, and wish I could find a job where they need a Mechanical Genius to help them grow and expand.

But I bet they hire some kid from India or Pakistan.
It's the paper that matters.
If someone has finished school for a specific job and has similar knowledge to you, while you only have knowledge without paper then they are going to take the person with diploma.

I'm an EE with roughly 1.5 years design experience in LED lighting. I'm certainly a long ways off from where I'd like to be. Also my old account was hacked? So I am calling myself upopads 2

Hello, All.

I'm a retired Electrical Engineer, on the graveyard side of 70, living in the North East of England.

I've long been interested in electronics with a heavy bias towards audio and returned to the hobby about three years ago having been unable to practise the black art since suffering a stroke in 2003. My interests do not extend to micro-processors et al other than as ready programmed components and I have no inclination to learn about PICs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi etc.

I hold a Class 1 Amateur Radio licence though I've not been active for many years.

Other interests include motor-cycling, photography and wine and beer making.

Hi, I'm a retired engineer who is now having fun with 3D printing, I make mostly parts and figures for my models and other friends who also make boats and aircraft for fun and relaxation. am hoping to complete an extruder for reclaiming the waist material when making parts with the printer, the who machine is ready but am having problems with the Sestos Digital Temperature controller and hoping someone can help me with this.
The Tug bit in front of my name is my knick name from my military days, 21 years Household Cavalry and Army Air Corp.

I'm Coyote Mike. I'm an artist who knows just enough electronics to be dangerous. I arrived here looking for a way to drive a colour changing LED from a Joule Thief. Now I've made that work, I have some more dumb questions...

I live in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK (to my friends across the Atlantic, Wales is just to the left of central England :))

Thanks for the welcome.

I've had the pleasure of hiking the Blorenge in Abergavenny. Beautiful country. Almost went to university in Bangor.

Hai, I'm Auriel Kitsu and I am the acting director for a cooperative scientific society named The HiddenCity Foundation. It's a startup based out of Mesa, Az. As a non-profit we do not wish to accept cash from our somewhat dear but somewhat perverse Uncle Sam and his questionable priorities and ethics. All of our small group have have a one time or another held public office as well as worked real jobs in the private sector. I personally spent 20 of the past 35 years working with information sciences under the roof of various financial institutions. For example Fifth Third Bank located in Cincinnati Ohio where I spend over 10 years in their IT division before retiring. Well sort of retired. I'm not really sure I could stand doing what most people call retired. Lets just say I decided one day that I was old enough and worked long enough that I didn't have to work 70 hours a week along with being eternally on call anymore. Today I do whatever I damn well please.
