Welcome aboard everyone!

Just a note to all the newcomers, it is very helpful to other members here if you add at least the country you live in to your profile. Even better would be your state/province/etc as well as your country. It gives the members something to go on in case they need to point you to country-specific resources.

Regards,
Matt

Thank you, Matt, for that suggestion. I did not see a place to put my location on the member information when I tried to update my profile.

I am a keen electronics engineer that only does electronics as a hobbie now. I own a Audio Visual Production Company in South Africa called AV Designers.
I have always loved electronics and have been building projects since I was young. I love the Instructables Website and have uploaded a few ideas that I have come up with. I don't have a lot of time for my hobbies but I try.
I also have a quad drone that I love flying and love most RC things and anything that runs on batteries

Hi everyone :)

I am a junior student @ Czech Technical University in Prague. I am really keen about PWM and other motor associated power managements.

Cheers

Briefly tell who you are.

I'm a senior student studying EE at UC Berkeley, specifically analog circuit design. B)

Hello Everyone,
I'm somewhat of an old school Electronics Engineer. Graduated in Sydney Australia in 1983. Have spent the last 20+ years as the Head of ICT in a Government Agency. Recently moved on and have decided to get back "on the tools" so to speak. I have forgotten much of what I'd learnt, but I still find it thoroughly engaging and good brain exercise.
I am bewildered by the lack of interest in general electronics and their workings, especially when one can buy, program, or indeed get an app that does all the things that amuse for a day or so. Biasing FETs using Thevenin, Norton and Milman theorems was the real deal and hope it still is.
MC1964- yep thats my birthyear

Just joined. Hello everyone. I am actually a computer programmer but was an electronics technician in the USAF for 8+ years. I have just enough old school electronics knowledge to put together some basic projects. I can read a schematic and design and etch my own boards although I need a nice dremmel tool so I can drill my boards, so I am asking for that for the Holidays. :) Anyway, enough about me. I came to look at all the cool circuits here and maybe create some home automation projects. I would also like to learn how to work with surface mount components. Can I do it with a normal soldering iron, or do I need special equipment? Thanks.

You can do it with soldering iron and flux.

Chemistry and electrons are intimately connected. The ability to interface chemistry and electronics has built several industries.

Hi Dave, I'm into electronics of all types from Ham, Amature and CB, even FM radio, to computers, Mechanical Engineering, knife making, Gas and Diesel engine repair, and many more.

I consider myself a Professional of all my skills. I was born with Asperger's, but have mostly grown out of it. I am getting old now, and wish I could find a job where they need a Mechanical Genius to help them grow and expand.

But I bet they hire some kid from India or Pakistan.
