Not my min pin. She belongs to the lady who gave us the cat, whose real name is BoBo. We are waiting for our ChiWeenie to be weaned next week. Puppies and cats are such a good mix.

I'm 35 years old on my 4th semester studying electronics(better late than never ). So I aint much of a help when it comes to helping other people here with their problems but am learning quite a lot by just reading the replies and googleing stuff I have never heard of.

Like you, I was older when I went to college. I was the age of some of my professors. I admire those who know it's never too late in life to learn something new. Welcome.

I did that, too. Six years between high school and college gave me time to get my priorities sorted out. When I got back to school, I knew exactly what I wanted and had real world experience to dilute the idealistic nature of book learning. It helps a lot to know the difference between what the math says and what kind of compromises the physical world requires.

Hey hey, hello everyone. I'm Rob from the Netherlands.
I'm 25, study biotechnology and do some programming/web design in my spare time.
I already have lots of hobbies and too little time, but still I somehow managed to get into electronics as well. I'm quite new to this and barely how the difference between voltage, Ampère and a hamburger at McDonalds; but I'll try to improve my knowledge using the e-book on this website and some books that I've bought.

I've bought an Arduino as well to get me started. They say you learn most by making mistakes, so I'm on my way as I already managed to destroy two iPods in an attempt to change the battery.

First thing is first; my introduction. I was born in the late sixties. I have mechanical engineering training and certification, but my job for the last fifteen years has had nothing to do with engineering. As a child I successfully made a crystal radio from a kit but left it there, so to speak, except for some basic electronics training on the course some years later.

I have recently picked up amateur electronics and radio again as a hobby, and this forum looks just the place to ask related questions if and when they pop up. Please bear in mind, therefore, that my questions will not be for any homework tasks or the like; it is a bit late in the day for that where I am concerned.

I have no objections to being treated as a "noob" at this stage, but some help every now and then to clarify an understanding of some concept or component would be greatly appreciated.

I notice there is a programming section to the forum, also, a subject which has been another hobby of mine, off and on, since the eighties. Maybe there will be a question or two there from me every now and then, and perhaps I can even give something back to the community and assist someone on that subject every so often, that is; if no one else helps!

Hey, what's up? I'm Billy, and I'm currently studying Electronics Technology at a 2-year technical school, and I'm currently at the very end of my first year. When I finish my education here, I would like to go and pursue a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Besides an interest in electronics, I'm an aspiring musician. I've been playing guitar for 6 years now as well as the violin for about 8 years (from Sept. 2004 until graduating high school in June 2013).

I'm still in the learning phase of electronics, so I'll be in here asking a lot of questions. I really enjoy electronics, so I'll definitely try and be active in the forums so I can expand on my knowledge.

Oh, nice! I've always wanted to play the piano. I also noticed that a lot of people are interested in both music and electronics as shown by people on this music forum that I frequent.
