Hi@ll can anybody tell if there's a USB 2 type A Connector who provides 5V at 3A current? No USB C bcuz the project i have going on its about to power up a Single Board computer with 5V and 3A (Asus Tinker Board s) with a DIY Stepdown Converter. The Single Board provides a Mirco USB 2.0 type B as input and as a common Power Suppy i use a quickcharge 3.0 usb 2.0 type A supply to . How they manage to get up to 3A on the output??

With a USB C to USB A adapter cable, the spec says it can deliver up to 5A@5V but the limit on USB 3 is 3A@5V which is really pushing it.

Hi Yaakov. Thnx for your quick reply. But i need a something with a micro usb on his end. like i mentioned before the single Board has a micro usb as input. Maybe i should use a USB C as output on my Step down converter? :)

MIcro USB 3 connectors have an absolute maximum of 3A@5V but an adapter to a USB C charger should do 5A.

Look into that.

It sounds ok, I would have a look on the net, for a manufacturer that cells high power output USB chargers, and buy one of their brand adapter cables.
You could also try looking for a "vention" cable on ebay or aliexpress. I have used them for high current charging with micro usb, and they seem a good brand but cant be 100% certain!

Alright i finally found a solution you can use a regular USB A Connector. But you have to short D+ and D- out or you just put a 200 ohm resistor between them so any device can identify it as DCP - Dedicated charging port. ;)
