A meter with "tweezers" can work with small components , while a meter with probes can work with any parts or assemblies. So a big question is what do you intend to do with the tool??? I have a small probe style digital multimeter. for some uses it works well, for other applications it does not. I have a FLUKE DMM that I plug probes with wire leads into. It is more universally useful.

Agreed ....
I have varius dmm probes, including tweezer form, but i find the mos useful are the standard probes, soecially with added long and extra sharp tips

Your opinion entirely.
I've used SMD smart tweezers for nearly 2 decades and they're the 1st tool I reach for when it come to component analysis.
The set I use now can be spread to 40mm so most TH devices can be measured with ease and provide more component measurements than any DMM can provide, certainly more than my Fluke.
Until you have good experience with SMD tweezers you would never know of their real capabilities.....I didn't !

When my opinion is requested I provide it. I would not think to force it on others. The suitability of a tool for an action depends primarily on that action. So each is very welcome to their own choices.

Get the FNIRSI SMD capacitors have no markings so the tweezers realty help. It is a little touchy switching between the test frequencies and voltages. Built several crystal filters with these, and it makes it easy to measure low pf pc lands to ground.

Theyre both FNIRSI but I see you recommend tweezer ones. Ill probably get both anyway! Thanks all.
