Hello,

I am looking for some info on how to build a CPU. I don't know how to build one. So far I know I'm going to need to build some basic bool and algebra logic gates, then combination and sequential gates for the ALU and memory.

Are these the same in every computer design? If not, which design is the best for building your own operating system and programming language?

What I want to do after this main design is build my own assembler, VM, my own language and compiler, and eventually an OS?

Is there a step by step design I can follow?
