Design a circuit to turn on the computer

Hello,
When the computer shuts down when the power goes out, how can I design a circuit that automatically turns on the system when the power comes back on?

Thank you.

If re-start requires a button/key to be pressed then you will need some sort of electro-mechanical system, unless you are prepared to delve into the innards of the computer and reverse-engineer enough to determine if an electronic switch could safely be used across the button/key contacts.

Ah, but were it that easy!

Just pressing the power button may or may not turn the computer on -- it depends on exactly what state it was in when it powered down. Even when I restart my computer the same way, I never know what will happen when I press the power button. Sometimes it starts like (I think) it is supposed to (at which point I have to then jump through some hoops to actually get into my account, and those hoops can vary a bit, such as does it remember who the last user was, or do I have to enter that, too). I usually have to enter my passcode, but not always. Then there are times that pressing the power button seems to just be some last step telling it to actually power down, so now I have to press it again. Sometimes nothing happens, so I have to press and hold the power button. But sometimes that actually wakes it up after five to ten seconds instead of fully powering it down. Then, especially after a hard shutdown, it comes up demanding that I enter the recovery key "to ensure the security of my data", but when this happens if I immediately reboot it, it will actually bypass that entirely (so just what security is it ensuring?), but other times I have to dig out the key and enter the damn thing.

hi hack,
On some PCs the USB sockets have +5v available when the mains power is plugged into the PC, even when the PC is not switched ON. Check your USB.?

If you do have that feature, it gives options for adding some PC power up circuitry.

What kind of PC? Desktop/laptop/model. .single machine or multiple?
Hardware and access are different.
If it is a desktop, accessing power on button is easy since connects to headers
one other option is to use wake on lan.
