So I bought a phase converter a few months ago (second hand) and have been using it just fine with the motor it came with. I have changed the motor the other day and it still works fine but i found a video talking about rotary phase converter and it made me think if I have a rotary converter and have been using it wrong or if it is a static converter?
I can't see anything saying what it is so i am hoping someone can tell from the pictures.

that is what I thought but best to check.
One last question is it possible to convert this into a rotary early or not just thought I'd find out in cases i need to at some point

Static convertors do not normally have a transformer, the switching is done electronically but is there no make/model #?

I should note that the is only one wire going to the motor with the 3 phases and the earth there is no wires coming back and it doesn't look like the ever has been.
Like I said in the first post it fires and runs the new bigger motor fine under loud so I don't know what to think or do

What motor did you change the other day?

Edit: Have you googled the manufacturer and model number?

 

No I don't think there is one the only place it may be is on the back but it is bolted to the wall

 

Is there some way to test what it is like if I put a voltmeter on the phases when it fires up should one phases have no power until it is running?
Or something like that?
