What is this thing I found in an old NiMH laptop battery?

Can anyone tell me what this part is inside this battery? It appears to be made by Isuzu but I can't find any information on it anywhere. Is this something I can buy a replacement for?

Here are 2 version of the same picture. I went over the writing of one of them in MSPaint to make it clearer :)

It looks like a temperature cutout set to off at 70°C to disconnect the battery if it gets too hot.
I don't know whether it auto-resets when it cools down or not.

I think you're right. My theory is that it auto resets. In the picture above, underneath the sticker is a component which I believe I found out to be a Thermal Fuse. I think that is what cuts out the battery (permanently) in emergencies while the Isuzu thing may just act as a temperature control. Perhaps the thermal fuse is there just in case the temperature controller malfunctions?
