What is Peak Forward Current and duty cycle in SMD LED?

Hello Friends...!

I'm trying to make led light for my home.In the data sheet of smd led ,i'm not getting what is peak forward current and duty 1/10 @ 10 ms.Kindly find the attached datasheet & help me out.

It means do not allow the LED to conduct 100 mA of current in the forward direction for more than 1 millisecond out of a 10 millisecond period. It is an absolute maximum, and if you exceed it you will have some chance of letting the magic smoke out. An LED won't work without the magic smoke.

But if you can operate it from DC you will get more light over the life of the LED. The Max continuous is 25 ma but it was designed to be powered at 20 ma.

I thought I would touch on something that will make this fail before you ever put power to it and please check the Datasheet because not all LEDs are the same...

I think besides power and Max info... The more important fact is how long and what type of Soldering it is looking for... 10 seconds on IR Reflow @ 500 Degrees. Also if your going to hand solder these, 3 seconds no higher then 660 Degrees. AKA 260c and 350c respectably.

If your not on top of soldering yet or have some off days, I would do some soldering practices before trying to make a light fixture to get some good solder joints in the times that is safe for these.

I just didn't want someone to over look something as important as soldering these.

Dear Mr.PapaBravo,

Does it mean it should be ON for 1ms and OFF for 9ms. Am i right? So how about the frequency?

For your type of use (general illumination), it is better to drive the LEDs with DC because this gives you more light over the life of the LED. Besides, why go to all of the trouble to strobe it unless you are making an stroboscope?
