What is a host? I have read it in a book, as the second paragraph said, "For some gears, which connected to the Internet (such as PC, Laptop, Game Console or even Smart phone) will be called Host or End System, but I watched this video(right down below) and he said that a server is a host, and PC is a client. Now I'm confused, which one is right?

P.S. I translated the sentence from my book, which wrote in my language into English so it might have some mistake cause' my English isn't good enough.

A host is someone who serves you, e.g. when you are invited to a dinner party, you are a guest in the house of the host.

A host is someone or another organism on which you live off of, i.e. you are a parasite and are feeding off a host.

A host is a server who provides you with what you need. Hence a computer host is one who provides you with the service that you request.

Hence if your PC is providing another device with data or service, the PC is a host.
If a server is providing the PC with data or service, then the server is also a host.
