Tech claims this and another 600VDC 2.6A supply cuts-out after a few hours of use. Running it on the load simulator and tracking the AC power usage.

Replaced idler pulley in my vehicle. A piece of apple pie compared to non-flat 4 miles for an old fart on a bicycle to pick the spare at AutoZone.

Sony BDP-S1700 (Blu-ray/DVD/CD/streaming & USB media player); picked it up at a thrift store pretty cheap, but didn't notice the power socket was damaged. This family of players use an external 12V/1A wall wart; which makes them useful for off-grid, RVs or post-apocalypse. However, the coax power connector has a shrouded center pin on the plug side, not a pin on the socket side, which is unusual. The PCB footprint is nearly identical to a common 5.5/2.1 coaxial socket (like 12V wall warts for external hard drives), so I salvaged one from a junk cable TV box. Dremel cutting disc was needed to trim the terminals to fit, and embiggen the hole in the back panel since the new socket won't fit flush. At a glance it looks stock, except for the gouge where the disc slipped.

The vital thing when substituting a DC supply module is the polarity. Follow the power input traces back to the filter capacitor and note which side is positive. And be sure to verify the power supply voltage and polarity.

Replacing a pair of open-circuit cells to repair a DeWalt battery pack where they are playing the lies game.
Pack labeled 5 Ah, has cells labeled for 4Ah. And a price for 10Ah. My mistake for believing they were a serious firm. Not any more.

Yes, original. The bad ones pulled out too. But in the pack, 2Ah pairs wired parallel means 4Ah, not 5Ah.

I keep bumping this thing along until I’m ready to install a new furnace. This is what I woke up to…..

I repaired my DeWalt 10" radial arm saw. The column was binding and making height adjust too difficult and the rollerhead bearings were froze up. Surprised more stuff wasn't froze up because it's been sitting in front of my barn for about a decade.

Next up: contractors table saw, bandsaw, and jointer.

Retractable clothes line.
I hung up a load of wet towels and the rivets which hold the cassette to the bracket gave way, depositing the towels on the lawn, which was muddy after a week's rain, so they all had to be washed again.
