I have a burnt out PAR 20 floodlight countersunk into my ceiling. The label on the bulb says 50W 130V. I live in North America we have 120v 60hz power. I went to the hardware store - couldn't find a proper replacement and the guy who worked there didn't believe me about my 130v bulb.

Can anyone explain this enigma to me?

 

The 130 volt are for locations that are difficult to reach and, therefore, you are willing to sacrifice some brightness for longer life.

Check amazon or any other hardware store...
