A similar observation, both neon and helium seem to emit the same color light. I questioned that as well.

I actually expected to see an orange color to the NEON too. Though I wondered as you did - I didn't think to point that out. Still, it's impressive that the plasma flame can melt tiny metal objects. I've operated a plasma torch to cut 1/8 inch steel. So I know the flame can be quite hot. Still an interesting video though.

 

I would think he would need some sort of coil in series with a resistor to make that work. But yeah, sure doesn't look like an LED...

The Slow Mo Guys are pretty neat, and how the folks who do the light pulse visualization do what they do is really quite cool.

 

That has been EXTREMELY enlightening. AWESOME video. My vote for #1 of the thread so far.
