My last media CRT was an old JVC. I gave it away to a friend with kids on the condition that they haul it away.


My AV cabinet build. That CRT was so heavy the TV support board has steel angle bar reinforcements to stop it from flexing.

One of those sites was on the top of hill near the old farm in the 60's to 70's. The tower (converted to some other type of service) was still there a few years ago.

The satellites collected huge amounts of data, which they transmitted to ground stations around the world. These stations were operated by the Naval Security Group Command, which performed encryption and data-security functions for the Navy. Flew one to that tropical paradise in the IO called Diego Garcia from Clark AFB n the Philippines.

 

Had one at Lockheed Aircraft Servicing Depot in Ontario CA. Came in for some upgrades. Climbed all over that behemoth. The ONLY place I didn't go was inside the fuel tanks. Fortunately that was someone else's job. And man did they have to suit up and rig up for breathable air. Cockpit - Avionics - Wheelwells - Horizontal Stabilizer Trim motor and jack screws - everywhere. Sept the tanks.

Most impressive thing I've ever seen was the static discharge arcing from engine hub to engine hub on a C-130. It was hot and dry that day. Gigantic blue arc as those big turbo-prop engines spun up. Wish I had a cell phone back then. (they didn't yet exist) (back in 1981). I was a wire stringer.

I MIGHT have been quicker but I was busy building a new work bench for my shop.
Right now I'm working on those six drawers. You see the faces but up on the top are the sides and backs. I still have to cut the bottoms but that'll come after the basic drawer is done. Cut to fit. It's a shop workstation. Don't care if it's not a thing of beauty.
