i was wondering if someone could tell me if there are voltage regulators for something in between this range 0.8V-4.2V, and if so advise a link.

Requirements are .8 volts to 4.2V.

Do you have a negative voltage available? If not, it'll be interesting if someone finds an off the shelf solution.

If you're willing to build a discrete regulator, no problem.

 

Here are two regulator chips you can take a look at; they're both adjustable down to zero volts output, will work up to at least 30 volts, and are programmed via a single voltage-setting resistor. For low currents (≤ 200 mA) there's the LT3082, and for higher currents (≤ 1.5 A) the LT3081.
