I'm stuck on a section of a question that asks for the collector voltage if Re is open, Can anyone help tell me what happens to the circuit when this is the case. Is Vc just 12V because the emitter is open?

You can answer that by how much current collector current there is when the emitter is open(?).

 

How did you come up with 12 V? What was the line of reasoning that led you to that result?

 

You have a reverse biased junction C-B, so only current flowing is ?
