Voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) , used as a frequency switching circuit?

Hi, I'm currently working on a rectifier design where I need to introduce a frequency switching circuit, and my friend suggests that I use a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). Any thoughts?

Are you sampling the frequency channels or just selecting one and then at
another time the other freq channel ?

Maybe a better description of the over all functionality of the project would help AAC
to help you.

I need it as part of an energy harvesting device, and this rectifier needs to function both at 2.4GHz and at 5GHz. The problem is I'm having a hard time looking for some sort of switching circuit that can be used to switch between two frequencies, which would be useful in increasing the capacity of the rectifier. Any help would be appreciated.
