I'm trying to figure out how to use (one of) these two little VGA cameras:


They both came from cell phones and I don't have schematics .
The first was from a Motorola C650 and the second was from a LG CE110.
The specs for both say they are VGA res with 4x zoom (but the zoom may just be digital).
The LG one can do 320x240 or 640x480 still image.
The Moto one can do 160x120, 320x240, or 640x480.

I'm just wondering if anyone has an idea on how to best go about using one of these devices?
I'd like to do make a little time-lapse camera or maybe even a video recorder.

 

They're pretty much useless without the computer interface circuitry which seems to be missing.

If you had a datasheet and schematic for that portion you might be able to fire it up and clock data out of it.

There are some nice for machine vision tasks as well as standard color ones.
