recently i'm doing a project with linear motor using simple inductive coil and permenant magnet. i get a idea that we have to use 2 hall sensor to figure out the position of motor. if anyone has an experience with using hall sensor to find displacement of motor, it would be helpful.

That is a normal practice to use Hall sensors for motor position. A lot of the BLDC motors work that way.
they use 3 Halls to control the switching position of the coils.
To find position, set up your 2 Halls in a quadrature configuration.
