i have a 19 pin double digit 7 segment display..n am using a 4511 driver for it..
but how do we connect both the things in order to show a max 4 bit number dat is 15 on the seven segment display.

do i have to branch each of the 7 outputs of the display driver into two and then feed it to the seven segment display pins

or do i have to use 2 decoders and branch the input 4 bit numbers into 8 to feed into 2 decoders!!
or is there sumother way!??
help me out!

thnx a ton

The OP has already constructed the 4-bit number, he doesn't need the counters to make it. What he wants is a circuit to convert the binary number to BCD, in order to split the digits of the number.

I had the same question a while ago. Is there anything more "ready-made" other than a large array of MUXs and Decoders?
