I just fixed a JBL flip Bluetooth speaker which had the USB port busted. The board which it was in was very much damaged when I removed it.
I basically soldered a USB cable to the positive and negative. Here is my question - I noticed that in the original board the data lines were also used and two capacitors were placed between Positive and Data + and negative and data negative, what is the use for that? When I fixed it I didn't connect data lines - would that be a problem? It does charge, could the data line have been used as over charge protection?
