Two of the same PWM IC's in the same circuit

Is it common to have more than one of the same IC chips (KA3525) in the same circuit?

I have a simple 300watt DC to AC inverter that utilizes a KA3525 PWM IC, a KA324 OP Amp and another IC that has the face scratched off but in the schematic it seems to have the same connections as the KA3525.

I guess all I'm asking is if this seems common or unusual to have two of the same PWM controllers in a DC to AC inverter circuit

Thanks

I've seen 12V DC to 230V AC inverters with 5 push-pull stages running in parallel stepping 12V up to 325V DC bus.
