Tweaked LM3914 circuit. Will it work ?

Hi.
There is only 5 LEDs wanted in this circuit, to display on a range of 1.2 to 7.6V input.

Some output pins are paralleled to the same LED. Is that allowed ?
Is this an acceptable way to set range limits ?

Yes, since the outputs sink current, you can parallel the outputs in the DOT mode. It just means that the top and bottom LEDs will remain lit for all input voltages above/below their respective trip points.
