trouble finding total capacitance in this series circuit

ok, so with this simple formula i need to know what is wrong and why the answer isn't coming to what it should be.
i multiplied 470x1=470 of course than added 470+1=471 of course than last divided 470÷471= 0.997 (or 471÷470=1.002) why am i getting these bad numbers... did i miss a step?

470 / 471 is correct. Your numbers are right. Perhaps your expectations were off? The charge on the larger capacitor can't pass through the smaller capacitor. The total capacitance will always be less than the smallest capacitor for capacitors in series. We can phrase that in 100 words or less. I suspect others here can give a more complete and specific reasoning in 1,000 words or more.
